Actress/Stunt Woman Zoë Bell from New Zealand grew up in Waiheke Island with her younger brother Jake. She has also a foster brother named Leonhard, who's living in his old hometown in Germany. She is daughter of Andrew Bell who works as doctor and her mother Tish is nurse. She currently resides in Los Angeles but hopes to return someday to New Zealand, in order to live in a own home. She graduated at the Auckland Girls' Grammar School and studied at the Selwyn College.

She practiced gymnastics on young age and competed at competitive gymnastic tournaments. She also practices scuba diving, high diving, track and field activities and dance. She started with taekwondo lessons when she was fifteen years old.


She made name as extremely talented stunt woman and actress through her unparalleled dedication, skills and focus. Her stunt career began in 1992 when her father returned home with a phone number for her in order to call, after her father has treated a stuntman with head injury. Her first stunt was jumping out a car in the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street''. She has also stunt accidents, as fractured vertebrae in her back during wire work stunts, or was one time temporary incapacitated after a breakaway chair was smashed on her back. She did the stunt and fight double of Lucy Lawless in the successful action TV series ''Xena: Warrior Princess''. She did stunts in ''Hercules: The Legendary Journeys'' which is filmed in New Zealand as well as ''Xena Warrior Princess''. Quentin Tarantino realizes that she would be the ideal double of Uma Thurman in both ''Kill Bill'' movies, when she is member of his stunt team. She does Uma's fight scenes and stunts as her "crash and smash" double. She had to learn wushu style, specially for her performance in both ''Kill Bill'' movies. Another accident of her on the set was when she has injured her ribs and the ligaments in her wrist, after she's being thrown backwards by a shotgun blast, at the end of filming ''Kill Bill: Volume 2''.  She underwent an surgery and restored several months until the injury is healed. She was also the stunt double of Sharon Stone in Halle Barry's ''Catwoman'' (2004). She did a fall of more then 200 feet in the movie which led to an Taurus Award nomination for ''Best High Work'' at the World Stunt Awards in 2005. She is the stunt double of Amy Acker in the ABC action TV serie ''Alias'' (2005). She did also stunts in movies as ''Devil's Den'' (2006) ''Planet Terror'' (2007), ''Death Proof'' (2007), ''The Proposal'' (2009), ''Inglourious Basterds'' (2009), ''Blood and Bone'' (2009) and more.


Awards And Achievements

She and Monica Staggs won the Taurus Award for ''Best Overall Stunt by a Stunt Woman'' and ''Best Fight'', for their fight in Kill Bill: Volume 2 at the World Stunt Awards (2005). She was jury member of the official fantastic film selection at the 40th Sitges International Film Festival in october 2007. She won the Indie Icon Award at the Las Vegas International Film Festival (2013). 


Action Movie Career


She made her action movie debut as female betrayer in one episode of the action TV series ''Cleopatra 2525'' (2000).


She plays next to Vanessa Ferlito, Rosario Dawson, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Rose McGowan and Tracie Thomas in this story about a killer who follows his victims with a car rather than a knife in the rip-roaring slasher flick ''Grindhouse'' (2007).


She plays an Sicko Eating Paramedic in this story where an experimental bio-weapon has accidentally released nerve gas at a remote U.S. military base in Texas in "Planet Terror" (2007).
